Roadmap view

Navigate to Roadmap in the sidebar. A timeline view showing features grouped by target release or quarter. Drag features between releases to reprioritize. Each feature card shows its status, story count, and total estimate.

Prioritization

Use the prioritization view to rank features by business value, effort, or custom scoring. The AI can suggest a prioritization based on feature descriptions and dependencies.

Creating a release

Go to Releases in the sidebar. Click New Release, set a name (e.g., "v2.4 — Q3 2026"), target date, and description. Releases can be in Draft, Active, or Released status.

Adding features to a release

From the release detail page, search and add features. Features can belong to only one active release at a time. The release timeline shows all features with their milestones.

Changelog generation

When a release is marked as Released, click Generate Changelog. The AI examines all approved stories in the release and produces a user-facing changelog grouped by category (New Features, Improvements, Bug Fixes). You can edit the changelog before publishing.

Sharing the roadmap

The roadmap view has a Share button that generates a time-limited public link. External stakeholders can view the roadmap without a Storymate account.

Release notes export

Export the changelog as Markdown or HTML for posting to your company wiki, blog, or release notes page.

Tip: Use the roadmap view for stakeholder presentations. The shareable public link is perfect for sending to executives or clients who need visibility into upcoming releases without requiring a Storymate login.
